The Datejust 31 was upgraded in 2018 to include a new caliber and one of the editions Rolex introduced was the 278289RBR which features an innovative, romantic dial. The 278289RBR has a white gold case that is 31mm in diameter with a monobloc middle case, closed case back and a winding crown. The bezel is made of white gold and is set with 46 diamonds. The dial is a pave diamond dial set with 262 diamonds and has a butterfly design made of mother of pearl with no hour markers, rose gold hands and a date window at 3-o-clock. The 278289RBR is powered by the self-winding 2236 caliber which has -2/+2 sec/day precision with instantaneous date functionality and a power reserve of up to 55 hours. The case is paired with a white gold president bracelet with a concealed fold-over clasp. It has a water resistance of 100 meters (330 feet)
